How does it work?
It is not a laser, nor an Intense Pulse Light (IPL) but rather, a revolutionary breakthrough in skincare. Think of it as a deeper massage for that area of the skin where therapists can’t reach. Light Therapy is now extensively used by medical professionals worldwide.
How will it improve my skin?
You really will get that glow you want! Light Therapy is an ideal choice for many skin concerns including ageing, wrinkles, skin healing, psoriasis and acne. Light therapy works on the bodies natural repair processes to counteract the effects of ageing and other skin concerns. Essentially it works from the inside out to plump up skin naturally. There is no downtime with this procedure, and this brand is arguably the most recognised in the beauty business. You can even have a treatment over your lunch break! It is the best to prevent the visible effects of ageing and maximise the benefits of skincare products, without the risks associated with more invasive treatments.
How does it feel? There are different colours, what do they do?
The first thing you will notice is how relaxing it is and a few weeks on you will see the results on your face. Light therapy is simple, harmless, relaxing and non-surgical.
There are three different lights, reaching different wave lengths in the skin. Red stimulates the skin’s natural production of collagen, it detoxifies, hydrates and freshens the skin naturally. It is great for all skins, and all ages from teens to those who are post-menopause. This is known as ‘the happy light’ as it stimulates your serotonin levels, releasing endorphins, boosting the way you feel, ideal during winter.
Near infrared is a skin healing light which stimulates tissue remodeling and improves collagen production by accelerating the wound-healing response. This leads to a softening of lines, wrinkles, and crows feet. This light restores skin back to optimum health and vitality, ideal for ageing skin. It’s also perfect for healing after laser skin rejuvenation.
Blue targets the bacteria that cause the redness and inflammation of acne. It destroys the bacteria without damaging healthy tissues and works with the bodies natural healing process. Combined with red and skin peel treatments, it's a powerful alternative to harmful drugs that can deliver excellent long-term results for acne sufferers.
How many treatments do I need and how often?
Light Therapy can be used as a single treatment to refresh the skin, just before a special occasion, or ideally, taken as a course of at least nine treatments for optimum skin correcting and rejuvenating results. For best results, we recommend three treatments a week, over three weeks.
We also recommend light therapy post laser, Botox or fillers and or any other invasive procedures it can prolong the effects as well as speeding up the recovery from these treatments.
How much is a course?
A standalone 30 minute treatment is $125 or you can add it to a facial for $85. If you would like a course, we do offer our Glow Course for $1050 bringing together a combination of treatments including Light Therapy.
